Still trouble on the land..but not all bad news

We are still trying to sort out issues on the land. The people wanting to take our property (or some of it) seem to be in a relationship with one of the officials. Money has been paid somewhere along the line and maps have been redrawn. We have some good and knowledgeable (sp?) people working with us. And of course God, who is bigger than all of this. No final decisions over boundaries etc have been made yet so we hope to have things turned around. We wait. While we wait we continue to plant and will try to have some crops for harvest.

A local doctor/pharmacist came and offered our children free medicines, medical check ups and his phone number in case we need him to transport the children to hospital at any time night or day, and to pay for the medical expenses incurred. Wow! We continue to be looked after! We have a great provider our needs will not go unmet!

I was so excited to have cold running water in the house for almost three days straight! But today no running water and no electricity. So I am typing this quickly before the battery on the computer runs out as well.

The rainy season has begun so we are having storms and rains each evening and sometimes of a morning. The temperature has dropped a little but still quite pleasant. Actually probably more pleasant as the perspiration has reduced considerably.

The children are now on holidays for 4 weeks although here in Kenya they use the holidays to have tutoring. Education is a very serious matter here. However, I'm planning to keep the children home from all day tutoring and just creating some individual programs for them that would probably target their areas of need more, in less time and it means we have them around which is always nice.

Battery running low! Must go! Have tried to include some photos but they are taking a long time to upload and the battery is about to give up. Will try next time with more power.

  2. Hi there
Great to read about all the news. We don't have Skype active but will try and get it organised this weekend and see if we can get a good connection. When Kez was in China our connection was hopeless. Hopefully that electricity is back so you can get your battery charge and keep up the communication.
    Hopefully talk soon
    Sara
